Parish Logo

Holy Trinity Catholic Mission is the first Catholic establishment in Mont Belvieu, Texas. Our name was inspired by the Trinity River, which runs adjacent to the area. Our logo represents the blessed Trinity: the eye and pyramid represents the all-seeing Father; the Cross - Jesus Christ, the Son of God; and the Dove - the Holy Spirit.

Originally Mont Belvieu was in the Galveston-Houston Diocese and area Catholics had to attend services in surrounding towns. But as boundaries were changed to coincide with county lines, Mont Belvieu became part of the Beaumont Diocese. Bishop Bernard Ganter of the Beaumont Diocese met with area Catholics and was instrumental in establishing Holy Trinity. Our first Mass was celebrated on November 30, 1991 in the Historic Fisher Chapel, located on the First United Methodist Church grounds on Eagle Drive. Bishop Ganter dedicated the Mission on December 14, 1991. Holy Trinity shared our first Pastor, Rev. Kevin Badeaux, with Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Anahuac. He was succeeded in Anahuac and Mont Belvieu by Rev. Louis Villarreal in 1995. Deacon Gene LeBlanc and his wife Martha have faithfully served Holy Trinity since our first celebration in 1991, and continue to do so today.

Through time, patience, growth, and the loving dedication of faithful parishioners, Holy Trinity Mission purchased land and completed phase one of a capital campaign. We began building our own worship facility in the summer of 2001. A new Holy Trinity Catholic Mission facility was dedicated by Bishop Curtis Guillory on November 18, 2001, almost exactly 10 years from the birth of the Parish. On May 18, 2003 Father Louis retired and Holy Trinity was assigned a full-time Priest, Father Andrew Moore. On May 30, 2003 Holy Trinity Catholic Mission became Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Father Andy was installed on July 20, 2003. Many changes came with Father Andy, not the least was continued growth in our Catholic Community. We continue to serve the needs of our Parish Family with daily services, Religious Education, CYO, R.C.I.A., Vacation Bible School, and many other services and organizations.
